Circus Workshop
On Monday 15th October 2007, I performed my circus workshop for a local guide group. They had been working on different skills and wanted to finish their look into this sphere of entertainment, by inviting me along to help point them in the right direction.
We worked on plate spinning, playing a game where they transferred one spinning plate from one stick to another. Then we went onto one, two and three ball juggling. Diabolo came next, and I helped them to start it spinning and then moved on to the simple throw in the air and catch.
We finished with my popular balloon modelling workshop. This is great for the slightly older children, and is requested quite often as part of my normal children's parties. I teach them all how to make simple models like a dog, flower etc., as many as we have time to learn.
Everyone had a great time, and left with their balloon dogs, as well as the basics of juggling under their belts. Who knows, there may be a lifelong passion for juggling that has been sparked by this event...
